Recent official rulings
Denzel Perryman — Injured Reserve
Harbaugh added that Perryman isn't quite ready to return to practice, and given that the veteran linebacker's 21-day practice window has yet to open, he's probably not available for Sunday's game against the Rams. Perryman landed on IR on Sept. 1 due to an undisclosed injury that he may have picked up toward the tail end of training camp.

Rodney Shelley — Out
Shelly didn't play in Week 5 against the Broncos. He was listed as doubtful heading into the meeting with Kansas City but will now miss his second consecutive contest. With Donte Jackson (hamstring) also sidelined, Deane Leonard is the favorite to start opposite Cam Hart at corner.
Bud Dupree — Out
Dupree suffered a neck injury in the Week 5 meeting with the Broncos. He practiced in a limited capacity a few times during the week but ended up receiving a questionable tag. Now that Dupree has been ruled out, rookie Akheem Mesidor is in line for more snaps.

Joe Alt — Out
Alt will be sidelined for a second straight game, but assuming his neck responds well while he begins ramping back up, he could be back in the lineup for the Chargers' next contest Week 8 versus the Rams on Nov. 1. Alex Harkey replaced Alt at right tackle in the Week 5 loss to the Broncos and could draw another start in his stead Sunday.
Derwin James Jr. — Out
James was not cleared to practice all week due to a hamstring injury, which will cause him to miss a second straight week. The Chargers are on a bye for Week 7, so the veteran safety will have additional time to rest ahead of Week 8 against the Rams on Sunday, Nov. 1. Elijah Molden, Tony Jefferson and Genesis Smith are all in line for more defensive snaps in the secondary in James' absence.
Donte Jackson — Out
Jackson will end up missing a second consecutive game due to a hamstring injury he sustained in Week 4 against the Seahawks. He hasn't been cleared to return to practice since sustaining the injury, but with the Chargers on a bye for Week 7, Jackson will have additional time to rest before Week 8 against the Rams on Sunday, Nov. 1. With Rodney Shelley (hamstring) listed as doubtful, Deane Leonard will likely start at outside cornerback in Jackson's absence.
