Injury & Status History
A running log of this player's status changes — each entry links to the original source.
Quentin Johnston — Active
Johnston needed just one catch to set a season high in receiving yards, but he was tackled at the 1-yard line to keep him without a touchdown this season after consecutive eight-touchdown regular seasons. The Chargers proceeded to back up 11 yards from there and settled for a field goal. Johnston has caught a deep pass in each of the past two games, securing a 44-yard catch in the Week 5 loss to Seattle prior to the 57-yard catch against the Chiefs. The 2023 first-round pick has just eight catches through five appearances heading into LA's Week 7 bye.
Quentin Johnston — Active
Ladd McConkey (foot) has also been cleared to play, while Tre' Harris (hamstring) has been ruled out. Harris seemed to be threatening Johnston for the No. 2 receiver job, but for now it'll likely be Johnston's role.
Quentin Johnston — Active
Johnston practiced in a limited fashion for the second day in a row, which offers hope that he'll be able to put an end to a one-game absence and return to action Sunday in Kansas City. In order to avoid carrying a designation into the weekend, however, Johnston may need to upgrade to full participation during Friday's practice.
Quentin Johnston — Questionable
A chest injury kept Johnston off the field for Week 5, but he was able to get some work in Wednesday. Fellow pass catchers Ladd McConkey (foot) and Tre' Harris (hamstring) are also banged up -- the latter did not practice Wednesday -- so it remains to be seen what the Los Angeles receiver room will look like Sunday against the Chiefs.

Quentin Johnston — Out
With Johnston sidelined and Ladd McConkey (foot) listed as questionable, Tre' Harris may end up being the No. 1 wide receiver for Justin Herbert on Sunday. There was no hint earlier this week of Johnston's chest injury being serious, but he'll apparently miss at least one game.
Quentin Johnston — Questionable
With Johnston having been limited Wednesday and Thursday, this could be more of a rest day for the wideout. The winless Chargers appear set to head into Sunday's game against the Broncos without Ladd McConkey (foot) after he missed practice all week, so Johnston is going to be needed alongside Tre' Harris at wide receiver.
Quentin Johnston — Questionable
A chest injury has resulted in back-to-back capped sessions for Johnston to kick off Week 5 prep, giving him just one more opportunity to get back to full Friday before the Chargers potentially tag him with a designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos. With Ladd McConkey (foot) not practicing Wednesday or Thursday and potentially trending toward an absence, an active Johnston likely will be the top pass catcher available to QB Justin Herbert this weekend.
Quentin Johnston — Questionable
The Chargers' receiving corps is banged up at the moment, with all of WR Ladd McConkey (foot, DNP on Wednesday), WR Brenen Thompson (quadriceps, LP) and TE Charlie Kolar (forearm, LP) dealing with health concerns, and WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith (hamstring) and TE David Njoku (fibula) on IR. Johnston has had every opportunity to produce this season, with at least a 75 percent snap share in all four games, but he so far has just nine touches for 111 yards from scrimmage and no TDs. Assuming McConkey isn't able to play Sunday versus the Broncos and Johnston suits up, the latter could be the unquestioned No. 1 pass catcher for QB Justin Herbert.
Quentin Johnston — Active
Despite Ladd McConkey (foot) playing just 24 of 71 offensive snaps, including zero in the second half, Johnston was a ghost most of the afternoon before hauling in a deep ball in the fourth quarter. Johnston continues to pace the team in snaps and routes at wide receiver, but he has little to show for it this season, posting just seven catches for 108 yards and no touchdowns on 19 targets. Johnston won't be a recommended fantasy play next Sunday against the Broncos, even if Patrick Surtain (ankle) and Riley Moss (ribs) are still banged up.
Quentin Johnston — Active
Johnston finished second on the team in targets, and his 40 receiving yards were nearly double his previous season total of 24 yards. He and the rest of the Chargers offense have yet to find their stride in 2026, making him hard to trust as a fantasy asset. The wide receiver will look to get back on track in a tough matchup in Week 4 against the Seahawks.
