Back on home ice after trade request, Kucherov has two assists in Lightning win
In Tampa Bay's 4-2 win over the Red Wings on Tuesday, NHL MVP Nikita Kucherov had two assists in his first home game since asking the Lightning for a trade, and he was greeted warmly, with fans holding a "We stand with Kuch 86" sign during warmups.
Jimmy Rolder — Injured Reserve
This move was anticipated, as Rolder suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in the Lions' win over Minnesota on Sunday. The rookie linebacker logged a career-high 17 defensive snaps and notched his first NFL sack in that contest, so his injury comes at an unfortunate time. Rolder will now turn his focus toward rehabbing the injury in order to be ready for offseason activities in 2027.
Max Mitchell — Injured Reserve
In a corresponding transaction, the Jets signed tackle Blake Freeland to their active roster. Mitchell, who has not made a start on the offensive line yet this season, will now have to miss at least the next four games.
Yasir Abdullah — Injured Reserve
Abdullah went to Atlanta's injured reserve list after hurting his hamstring back in Week 4 at New Orleans, but it now looks like he may be close to returning to game action. The transaction opens a 21-day window during which the Falcons can officially activate Abdullah from IR before they'd have to put him back on the shelf for the rest of the campaign.
Tom Willander — Out
out
Brady Christensen — Injured Reserve
Christensen has been rehabbing from a hamstring injury all season and has yet to play in a game. The Panthers will now have 21 days to activate him from IR, otherwise he won't be eligible to suit up this season. If Christensen does indeed return, he could be moved into a starting role.
Cashius Howell — Injured Reserve
Howell suffered a right wrist injury during Sunday's overtime win against the Titans, and he will now be forced to miss at least four contests as a result. The defensive lineman has already undergone surgery, per Mike Petraglia of CLNSCincy.com, and in Howell's absence, Shemar Stewart will stand to see an increase in workload at defensive end.
Dean Connors — Injured Reserve
Connors broke his hand in Sunday's win over the Chargers and is slated for surgery. He's worked as a core special-teamer this season but hasn't logged a snap on offense. As such, Connors' IR stint -- which will last at least four games -- isn't likely to cause any waves in fantasy.
Eric Murray — Injured Reserve
It was already known Murray suffered a season-ending elbow injury during the first quarter of Sunday's game versus the Colts, so the move comes as no big surprise. In his absence, 2025 sixth-rounder Rayuan Lane could step into a starting role at safety for the rest of the year.
DaVon Hamilton — Injured Reserve
Hamilton suffered a ruptured quad during Sunday's game versus the Colts, and now he'll spend the rest of the season on IR. His departure from Jacksonville's defensive line figures to open up more opportunities for 2024 second-rounder Ruke Orhorhoro as the campaign continues.
Samson Ebukam — Injured Reserve
Ebukam suffered a hamstring injury in Week 9 versus the Buccaneers, and he will now be forced to miss at least four contests as a result of the injury. In his absence, Za'Darius Smith is a top candidate to operate in a more prominent role at outside linebacker.
Jonathan Marchessault — Out
out
James Conner — Injured Reserve
Though LaFleur said last week that Conner could "potentially" play this season, that won't happen in Week 9. The veteran running back continues to work his way back from a right foot injury and has not yet been cleared to practice. Arizona is dealing with multiple injuries in its backfield, including to Jeremiyah Love (ankle - IR) and Bam Knight (concussion), so Conner could have provided a big boost if he'd been able to work his way back this week. Instead, the team will turn to Tyler Allgeier to lead its backfield, with Evan Hull serving as his primary backup if Knight is unable to suit up Sunday against Seattle.
Daron Payne — Injured Reserve
Payne suffered a season-ending Jones fracture in his left foot during practice last week. His transition to injured reserve comes as no surprise, and in Payne's absence, Tim Settle will operate as the team's primary nose tackle moving forward.
Kawhi Leonard — Out
Leonard will now begin the next phase of his rehab, and while he'll be re-evaluated by Nov. 10, it's still unlikely we'll see him back on the floor until the end of November. Ja'Kobe Walter should continue to start while Leonard is sidelined, and it'll be Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett running the show on offense.
Javon Kinlaw — Injured Reserve
Kinlaw suffered a knee injury in Week 6 versus San Francisco, and he was ultimately forced to miss the team's Week 8 win over the Eagles. The defensive lineman will now be sidelined for at least four more contests before he'd be eligible to return to action Dec. 6 versus the Titans.
Spencer Jones — Out
Jones is still battling bilateral hamstring problems. He can be considered out indefinitely until the Nuggets offer another update on his recovery.
Ivica Zubac — Out
Zubac has missed the last five regular-season games due to an ankle injury. While it's not clear how healthy he is, the questionable designation at least suggests he's moving in the right direction. If Zubac is sidelined again Wednesday versus Memphis, Jay Huff is expected to remain in the starting lineup at the five.
Kailer Yamamoto — Out
Yamamoto remains day-to-day and will miss his second straight game. He has earned three goals, seven points, 21 shots on net, six blocked shots and 18 hits in nine appearances this season.
Obi Toppin — Out
Toppin was available for emergency purposes Monday against the Hawks, so he figures to have a good chance of playing Wednesday. The Pacers should update his status closer to tipoff.
Scotty Pippen Jr. — Out
Pippen will miss a second consecutive contest due to lower-back soreness, with his next chance to suit up coming Wednesday against Indiana. Cam Spencer will likely see increased playing time off the bench with the 25-year-old sidelined.
Scotty Pippen Jr. — Out
This will be Pippen's third straight game on the sidelines, which should continue resulting in more minutes for Cam Spencer. Pippen's next chance to play will come Friday against the Thunder.
Jusuf Nurkic — Out
Nurkic has been a spectator to begin the season, and he's still not ready for game action due to a foot injury. The veteran big man should be considered week-to-week until the Jazz update his recovery, so Jaxson Hayes should remain the team's primary center going forward.
Jordan Poole — Out
Poole is expected to return from a three-game layoff for the meeting with the Jazz on Wednesday. The 27-year-old hasn't had a memorable 2026-27 campaign thus far, averaging 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals across 16.0 minutes per contest. If Poole is cleared for action, it would likely mean fewer minutes for Bryce McGowens and Trendon Watford.
Giants, CB Greg Newsome II agree to 3-year, $46M extension
The Giants have reached agreement with cornerback Greg Newsome II on a three-year, $46 million extension, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Nikola Topic — Out
Topic has yet to play during the 2026-27 campaign, and at this rate, it doesn't look like he will be on the floor anytime soon. For now, he should be considered week-to-week. The 2024 No. 12 overall pick has appeared in only 10 regular-season games throughout his career, averaging 5.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 40.0 percent from deep over 16.0 minutes per contest.
Thomas Sorber — Out
Sorber remains in recovery mode due to knee surgery. Until the Thunder update his timetable for a return, Sorber can be deemed week-to-week.
Bills release C.J. Gardner-Johnson after one-game spitting suspension
The Bills have released safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, the team announced Tuesday.
Max Christie — Out
The swingman is missing his first game of the season with a hip injury , which he suffered Monday against the Kings. Naji Marshall and Zaccharie Risacher stand out as the most likely candidates to step into the starting lineup Wednesday.
Santi Aldama — Out
The questionable tag is an upgrade for Aldama, who has either been listed as out or doubtful ahead of all of Dallas' games this season. If the 25-year-old is cleared to make his season debut following knee surgery, he'll likely operate under a minutes restriction.
Kerby Joseph — Out
Joseph returned to practice in Week 8 in limited fashion, after beginning the season on the reserve/PUP list with a knee injury suffered during the 2025 season. The 25-year-old appears to be on track in his practice progression as he began reps with the scout team Tuesday. His next opportunity to play will be in Week 10 against New England on Sunday, Nov. 15.
Kon Knueppel — Out
Knueppel hasn't played this season, though it appears he will make his 2026-27 campaign debut versus Brooklyn. It may take him a few games to ramp up. However, Knueppel's return, even in a limited capacity, will presumably send Sion James back to the bench.
Jaylon Tyson — Out
Tyson is remaining sidelined for a third straight game due to the injury. Meleek Thomas and Mario Hezonja should continue to play meaningful roles for the Cavaliers until Tyson is ready to return.
Peyton Watson — Out
This will be Watson's second straight game on the sidelines, and with Friday's game being the first of a back-to-back set, he may need to spend an additional game on the inactive list. Meleek Thomas, Sam Merrill and Mario Hezonja will help pick up the slack in Watson's absence.
Jock Landale — Out
Landale is sidelined for a second consecutive game with the injury. Zuby Ejiofor should handle the No. 2 center spot for as long as Landale is on the shelf.
Dominick Barlow — Out
The 76ers were due to re-evaluate Barlow on Tuesday, but the big man remains in recovery mode ahead of Wednesday's action. Until the team updates his return timeline, Barlow can be considered week-to-week.
DaVon Hamilton — Injured Reserve
ir
Richard Fitts — Out
Fitts underwent right lat surgery in April after getting hurt while pitching at Triple-A Memphis. It's unclear where Fitts currently is in the rehab process, but Bloom said the righty is "hellbent on being part of this picture from the jump" next season. Assuming health, Fitts will be in the mix for a rotation spot next season. However, after all the time off there's a good chance he'll begin the campaign back at Memphis.
Tyler Loop — Injured Reserve
Loop emerged from Sunday's blowout loss to the Bills with a right groin injury, which will keep him out for at least the next four games. Baltimore plans to elevate or sign Jake Moody off its practice squad to take over as its kicker beginning with Thursday's game against Jacksonville. Through Baltimore's first eight contests, Loop went a perfect 18-for-18 on point-after attempts but missed four of his 17 field-goal tries.
Romy Gonzalez — Out
Gonzalez slashed just .185/.264/.308 in 19 games for the Red Sox this season and spent the final two months of the year at Worcester. However, the 30-year-old had a .978 OPS versus lefties in 2025, so he could be a useful reserve for the Red Sox in subsequent rounds if he can get healthy.
Max Mitchell — Injured Reserve

Source: Colts, Adetomiwa Adebawore agree to 2-year, $35M extension
The Colts and defensive tackle Adetomiwa Adebawore have agreed to terms on a two-year, $35 million extension, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Javon Kinlaw — Injured Reserve
ir
Daron Payne — Injured Reserve
ir
Jeremy McNichols — Injured Reserve
McNichols' move to IR ensures that he'll miss at least the Commanders' next four games, but Tashan Reed of The Washington Post relays that the running back isn't expected to play again this season after sustaining what head coach Dan Quinn labeled as a "serious mid-foot injury" during Sunday's win over the Eagles. The 30-year-old is still seeking further medical opinions, so a formal timeline for McNichols' recovery hasn't yet been established. In response to McNichols' injury, Washington claimed Robert Henry off waivers from Seattle on Tuesday to bolster their depth at running back behind Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler.
Jimmy Rolder — Injured Reserve
ir
Luis Gutierrez — Out
This move will protect Gutierrez from the Rule 5 draft, as he would've been eligible if not added to the roster ahead of the Nov. 17 deadline. The 23-year-old saw action in Triple-A for a second straight season, though he spent the majority of his 2026 season at Double-A San Antonio, posting a 4.19 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 22 strikeouts in 19.1 frames.
Isaiah Joe — Out
Joe will miss Wednesday's contest due to a right hip contusion, resulting in his fifth straight absence. This will continue to open up additional minutes on the perimeter for Detroit's reserves. Joe's next opportunity to play will come Sunday against the Lakers.
Jeremiyah Love — Injured Reserve
Love's move to IR was fully expected, after Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Tuesday that the rookie first-round pick was diagnosed with a right high-ankle sprain and was facing a projected recovery timeline of 4-to-5 weeks. While Love is on the mend, Tyler Allgeier is expected to step into a lead role out of the Arizona backfield beginning with the team's Week 9 game against Seattle.
Kendrick Bourne — Injured Reserve
Though Bourne is expected to avoid surgery after fracturing his right tibia during Sunday's 33-30 overtime win over the Cowboys, he's facing an expected recovery timeline of three months that effectively ends his season. With Bourne heading to IR, the Cardinals signed Harrison Wallace off their practice squad to replenish their depth at receiver. The 31-year-old Bourne will finish the 2026 campaign with 26 receptions for 263 yards and no touchdowns on 38 targets over eight appearances.
Nic Claxton — Out
Claxton has now drawn his first questionable tag of the young season as he closes in on his debut. If he does get the green light, he may face restrictions early on. Jalen Smith (finger) and Zach Collins could lose some steam upon Claxton's return.
Max Mitchell — Out
out
Cole Sands — Out
A move was required to free space on the 40-man roster for the addition of A.J. Minter. Sands is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove loose bodies and bone spurs from his right elbow and is out for the rest of the season.
Isaac Howard — Out
out
Jonathon Brooks — Injured Reserve
The Panthers haven't yet opened Brooks' 21-day practice window, but that might happen soon after head coach Dave Canales said Monday that the young running back would "potentially" be designated for return from injured reserve this week. Brooks hasn't played since Week 2 after undergoing core-muscle surgery, so he'll likely need to turn in multiple full practices before the Panthers are comfortable clearing him for game action. Once he's activated from IR, Brooks will likely handle a supporting role out of the backfield behind starter Chubba Hubbard.
Kirby Dach — Out

Why trade deadline rumors are swirling around Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
The 2024 first-round pick is sliding down the depth chart. What happened, and could the Jaguars trade him before the Nov. 10 deadline?
Ryan Bergert — Out
no
Taylor Hall — Out
Hall skated with his teammates ahead of Tuesday's matchup, but he will likely miss his ninth straight game. He was close to returning from an upper-body injury that sidelined him for five contests, but he tweaked a separate upper-body issue that has kept him out since. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour is optimistic that Hall could play against the Islanders on Thursday.
Mitch Spence — Out
Spence's move to the IL represents yet another hit to the Royals' starting pitching depth, as the organization has already lost Cole Ragans, Stephen Kolek, Luinder Avila, Ryan Bergert and Ben Kudrna to season-ending elbow surgeries. The 28-year-old righty has been part of the Royals' 40-man roster throughout the 2026 campaign, logging a 5.35 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over 16 starts with Omaha and yielding 22 earned runs in 9.1 innings over three appearances at the big-league level.
Jeremiyah Love — Out
Love was available to play Week 8 after missing the Cardinals' previous two games due to a left ankle issue, but he ended up exiting Sunday's 33-30 overtime win over the Cowboys late in the first quarter after tweaking his opposite ankle. Though the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft was cleared to play in advance of Week 1 after previously sustaining a right high-ankle sprain in the preseason, he won't be as fortunate this time around now that he's sprained the same ankle for the second time in less than three months. The projected 4-to-5-week recovery timeline gives Love a chance at returning to action when first eligible to return from IR on Dec. 6 against the Eagles, but at least for the next four games, Tyler Allgeier looks poised to serve as Arizona's lead back. The Cardinals could also look to bring James Conner (foot) back from IR at some point during that four-game stretch.
Taylor Hall — Out

Jake Miller — Out
Miller opened the season on Triple-A Toledo's IL while he was recovering from October labral repair surgeries on both of his hips, but he was activated and assigned to Erie earlier in the week after completing a six rehab appearances across stops with three of the Tigers' lower-level affiliates. He made his debut for Erie on Tuesday and struck out two over three scoreless frames, but Miller apparently succumbed to a new injury coming out of that appearance.
Filip Chytil — Injured Reserve
Given that Chytil landed on injured reserve Oct. 30, he was only eligible to appear in the Canucks' second contest of the team's upcoming two-game road trip. When healthy this season, the 27-year-old center has posted two points, 13 shots on net and six blocked shots over seven appearances. Once the Canucks' return to Vancouver, Chytil's first opportunity to be activated from injured reserve and make his return is Monday's clash against the Flyers.
Colton Parayko — Out
out
Sean Durzi — Out
out
Edwin Uceta — Out
Uceta pitched in only four rehab games in 2026 because of a right shoulder impingement and subscapularis strain. He tried unsuccessfully to rehab the injury before eventually going under the knife. Uceta pitched high-leverage innings for the Rays in 2024 and 2025 and could do so again, but it's no guarantee he'll be the same pitcher post-op.
Bowen Byram — Injured Reserve
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled forward Dillon Boucher from AHL Rochester. Byram hasn't played since Oct. 13, and it remains unclear when he will be available to return. He has one assist, five shots on net, nine blocked shots and two hits in six appearances this season.

2026 NFL trade deadline updates: Jeffery Simmons, Quenton Nelson on the move
The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10, but deals have already started. We're tracking all moves, including a blockbuster sending Jeffery Simmons to Chicago.
Brian Fitzpatrick — Out
Fitzpatrick was diagnosed with a left UCL strain in early June, necessitating this week's surgery. He'll now be sidelined for the remainder of the current campaign and much of 2027, though he could return in the second half of next season if his recovery and rehab goes well.
Quinn Priester — Out
Priester has dealt with thoracic outlet symptoms since last season, and he attempted unsuccessfully to treat it with rest and rehab. After consulting with Dr. Gregory Pearl on Tuesday, the decision was made to have surgery. Priester expects to be ready to go for the beginning of next season, but the track record of pitchers coming back from this type of procedure isn't great.
Angel Zerpa — Out
This transaction has been an eventuality since it was announced in early May that Zerpa required a UCL reconstruction on his left elbow. The 26-year-old is expected to be sidelined until around midseason of 2027.
Seven things Solak thinks for NFL Week 9: Bucs atop NFC South? RB trades coming?
Get ready for Week 9 with takes on the Bucs' division chances, why RBs could dominate the trade deadline and which teams should at least ask about Justin Herbert.
Nick Mears — Out
Mears has been sidelined since May 29 due to a right shoulder impingement and dealt with multiple setbacks during his rehab, including a right lat strain revealed in mid-July. After progressing to mound work, the right-hander experienced renewed discomfort last week, with subsequent testing revealing thoracic outlet syndrome. Mears will finish his injury-marred first season with the Royals having posted a 5.12 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 15:11 K:BB across 19.1 innings.
Luinder Avila — Out
Avila is likely to remain sidelined until 2028 after undergoing Tommy John surgery Wednesday, so the Royals will stash him away on the 60-day IL. The move frees up a 40-man roster spot for Luke Little, who was claimed off waivers from the Cubs on Thursday.
Stephen Kolek — Out
The right-hander headed for a second opinion on his strained right forearm last week and is now set to go under the knife. The full scope of the procedure isn't clear, but if it's standard Tommy John surgery, Kolek will miss the rest of the season and will likely be sidelined for the entirety of the 2027 campaign.
Cole Ragans — Out
It was unknown what type of procedure Ragans would need when the Royals announced last weekend that he was scheduled for surgery. Now confirmed to have undergone UCL repair surgery, the 28-year-old southpaw will officially miss the remainder of the season and is likely to remain out until midway through the 2027 campaign. He'll close the book on 2026 after putting up a 4.84 ERA and 1.42 WHIP alongside a 45:23 K:BB through 35.1 innings over eight starts.
Carlos Correa — Out
The Astros announced Wednesday that Correa won't be able to make it back before the end of the season because he couldn't handle the workload he took on while rehabbing his ankle, and the inflammation appears to be a consequence of overworking himself. The results of his tests didn't reveal any structural damage, however, so there's still a strong chance that he'll be ready to go by the time the 2027 season begins.
Sources: Injury-plagued Thunder agree to 2-year deal with veteran Dalen Terry
Dalen Terry has agreed to a two-year deal with the Thunder, sources told ESPN.
Colin Holderman — Out
The operation was successful, and Holderman is expected to be 100 percent in time for spring training. Holderman posted a 2.73 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 50:20 K:BB over 52.2 frames for the Guardians this season. The 31-year-old is eligible for salary arbitration this winter.

Rowan Wick — Out
Wick will remain with the organization and is arbitration eligible. He was unable to pitch during the 2026 while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.
Patrick Kane — Out
The Blackhawks' upcoming three-game road trip will begin Wednesday against the Panthers and conclude against the Hurricanes on Saturday, but it's currently unclear if Kane will be traveling with the team. Following Saturday's game, the Blackhawks don't play again until Nov. 12, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Kane sidelined until at least that date if he doesn't make the trip to Florida on Tuesday. Jordan Greenway will probably get back into the lineup Wednesday due to Kane's absence.
Endy Rodriguez — Out
The transaction clears space on the 40-man roster for the addition of Christian Bethancourt. Rodriguez underwent season-ending surgery last week to repair the labrum in his left hip.
