NFL trade deadline grades: Jeffery Simmons, DeForest Buckner, Quenton Nelson
Did the Bears give up too much to go all-in with Simmons? How did the Colts do in their DeForest Buckner and Quenton Nelson deals?
Tyrone Tracy Jr. — Injured Reserve
Just as general manager Joe Schoen indicated would be the case earlier in the day, Tracy was deactivated after straining his hamstring during Sunday's 27-21 overtime win over the Texans. He'll be out for at least the next four games, making the Giants' Week 13 game against the 49ers his earliest possible return date. While Tracy is sidelined, Devin Singletary is expected to operate as the top complement to Cam Skattebo (hamstring), who thrived while moving back into a lead role out of the backfield in the Week 7 victory.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. — Out
Per Duggan, Schoen added that the hamstring injury that Tracy sustained in Sunday's overtime win over the Texans isn't season-ending, but the running back's impending move to IR means that he won't be eligible to play in any of the Giants' next four games. With Tracy out through at least Week 12, Devin Singletary should will be in line to serve as the top complement to lead back Cam Skattebo (hamstring). The Giants are planning to sign Greg Desrosiers off the Chargers' practice squad to add depth to the position group, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.

Tremaine Edmunds — Injured Reserve
Edmunds will miss the rest of the 2026 season due to a torn chest muscle, so his placement on injured reserve opens up a spot on the Giants' 53-man roster. Micah McFadden is expected to start at inside linebacker alongside Arvell Reese for the rest of the season in Edmunds' absence, with Jack Kelly and Zaire Barnes providing depth at the position.
Theo Johnson — Out
Johnson's lack of participation in Friday's practice session appears to have been indicative of his playing status for Sunday's contest. The tight end will not be able to overcome his neck injury in time for Week 7 and will have to look toward the Giants' Week 9 contest against the Eagles after the bye.
Jevon Holland — Out
Holland entered the NFL's five-step concussion protocol after the Giants' Week 6 loss to the Saints. The safety has not been cleared by an independent neurologist to play in Sunday's game, leaving Ar'Darius Washington to suit up as the starting free safety for the Giants in Week 7.
Tremaine Edmunds — Injured Reserve
Edmunds suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of the Giants' 34-27 loss to the Saints in Week 6. With the veteran linebacker done for the year, Micah McFadden will take over as a starter alongside Arvell Reese. Edmunds will finish his first season with the Giants with 50 tackles (32 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and two pass defenses across six regular-season games.
Greg Newsome II — Out
Newsome entered the league's concussion protocol during the Giants' Week 6 loss to the Saints, and he was held out of practice all week. The Giants are thin in the secondary, so one of Colton Hood or Nic Jones figures to start opposite Deonte Banks at outside cornerback. New York is on a bye for Week 8, so Newsome's next chance to play is Week 9 against Philadelphia on Sunday, Nov. 8.
Jevon Holland — Out
Holland entered the league's concussion protocol following the Giants' Week 6 loss to the Saints. He was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but he won't be permitted to play Sunday unless he's cleared to do so by an independent neurologist. Tyler Nubin (neck) is also listed as questionable, so Jason Pinnock and Ar'Darius Washington could be the Giants' starting safeties for Week 7.
Theo Johnson — Out
Johnson's reps in each of the first two practices of Week 7 prep were limited due to a neck injury, and he was sidelined entirely for Friday's session. He's trending toward missing a second consecutive game, so Thomas Fidone and Chris Manhertz would both be in line for more work behind Isaiah Likely in the event that Johnson is ruled out for Sunday's contest.
