Cam Skattebo — Questionable
After tweaking his hamstring late in the Giants' Week 7 overtime win over Houston, Skattebo was seen working off to the side Monday during an unofficial practice coming out of a bye week. Skattebo will still have three more opportunities to log on-field reps in Week 9, and the Giants should have a better idea about his status for Sunday's game based on what he's able to do in those sessions. Devin Singletary would be the next man up in the New York backfield if Skattebo is unable to play or is limited against the Eagles.
Cam Skattebo — Questionable
Skattebo tweaked his hamstring at the end of a 42-yard run in overtime during the Giants' Week 7 win over the Texans, capping off a season-best performance during which he accounted for 121 yards and a touchdown on 18 touches. Though a well-timed Week 8 bye gave Skattebo additional time to recover, he may not be back to 100 percent as the Giants begin prepping for Sunday's game against the Eagles. The Giants will release their first official Week 9 injury report Wednesday, when it will be known whether Skattebo is healthy enough to practice fully or if he's operating with limitations.
Cam Skattebo — Questionable
Skattebo's explosive run put the Giants within field-goal range before he was subbed out for Devin Singletary, who ran up the middle for a 30-yard score to seal the win on the very next play. Though he told Dan Graziano of ESPN.com after the game that he "felt something" in his hamstring that prompted him to slide down at the end of his run rather than being tackled to the ground, Skattebo doesn't sound like he'll require an MRI and should be ready to play in the Giants' next game Nov. 8 versus the Eagles following a Week 8 bye. After being limited to just six snaps in a Week 6 loss to the Saints following a string of poor outings to begin the campaign, Skattebo stepped back into a lead role out of the backfield in Sunday's victory and delivered his best performance of the season, finishing with 121 total yards and a touchdown on 18 touches.
Cam Skattebo — Questionable
One week removed from not receiving a touch while playing six offensive snaps in a loss to the Saints, Skattebo was back in the saddle in the Giants backfield this Sunday, turning 17 rushes into 124 yards and one touchdown and gathering in his only target for minus-3 yards. Meanwhile, fellow RBs Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy (hamstring) combined for 15 touches in Week 7. Both Skattebo and Tracy emerged from this contest with health concerns, but with a Week 8 bye on tap for New York, both players will have time to rest up for the team's next game Sunday, Nov. 8, in Philadelphia.
Cam Skattebo — Active
Skattebo ranked fourth in offensive snaps (six of 77) among Giants running backs behind Devin Singletary (31), Tyrone Tracy (29) and Najee Harris (11) last Sunday against the Saints, failing to log a touch in the process. The team has since released Harris, and Skattebo's brief benching appears to be over. It's unclear who among Skattebo, Singletary and Tracy will get the start this Sunday, but the former did average 18.2 touches per game through the first five weeks of the campaign.
Cam Skattebo — Active
Skattebo didn't log a single carry during the Giants' 34-27 loss to the Saints in Week 6, spending most of the game on the bench. That lack of production stemmed from his critical fumble during overtime against the Commanders in Week 5, but following the release of Najee Harris on Tuesday, Ranaan indicates that Skattebo is expected to reclaim a key role in the Giants' backfield this weekend alongside Tyrone Tracy, with Devin Singletary also in line for work.
Cam Skattebo set to return to Giants RB mix after being 'taught a lesson'
After zero carries in Week 6, Cam Skattebo says he took a step back to evaluate and correct, and Giants' coach says he should return to the running back mix vs. the Texans.
Cam Skattebo — Active
One week after losing a key fumble in a 27-27 tie to the Commanders, Skattebo was removed from his starting job as the Giants backfield devolved into a four-man committee. Tyrone Tracy was the team's most productive back, scoring one rushing and one receiving touchdown but managing just 45 scrimmage yards on eight touches, while Devin Singletary had 33 yards on five touches and Najee Harris eked out just two rushing yards on four carries. With no one really stepping up in his place, Skattebo could return to a more significant role in Week 7 against the Texans, but it will be hard to trust any New York running back in fantasy lineups until one emerges from the pack.
Cam Skattebo — Active
Coming off a significant ankle injury that cut short his rookie season, Skattebo has handled a lead role out of the New York backfield through the first five games, playing no fewer than 57 percent of snaps on any occasion while averaging 18.2 touches per contest. The second-year back hasn't shown the same burst he displayed in 2025, however, averaging just 3.6 yards per carry and 7.9 yards per reception while finding the end zone only once. Perhaps more troublingly, Skattebo has struggled with ball security, fumbling four times and losing one. As a result of Skattebo's poor form to begin the season, the Giants may be compelled to lighten his workload Sunday and open up more opportunities for Harris compared to previous weeks.
Cam Skattebo — Active
After a quiet performance in regulation, Skattebo saved his best and worst moments for overtime. He racked up 40 of his 71 scrimmage yards in OT, but Skattebo fumbled on Washington's 24-yard line as the Giants were in range for a potential game-winning field-goal attempt. That mistake was matched by a clock-management error on the other end, which prevented the Commanders from attempting a game-winning field goal of their own prior to the end of OT. Skattebo will be motivated to atone for his fumble in Week 6 against the Saints' leaky run defense.
Cam Skattebo — Active
Skattebo was limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday due to a shoulder injury, which he touched on Friday when he told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com that he dealt with a "little muscle tightness." With his status now not in question for Week 5, Skattebo will continue to operate as the Giants' lead runner, as he's turned his 76 touches into 302 yards from scrimmage and one TD in four contests this season.
Cam Skattebo — Questionable
Skattebo has opened Week 5 prep with consecutive limited sessions. The top backfield option for the Giants will have one more opportunity Friday to upgrade to full participation as he looks to avoid carrying an injury designation into a game for the first time this season.
Cam Skattebo — Questionable
Skattebo has yet to hit 100 rushing yards in a game this season and currently is sitting on 302 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD on 76 touches through four contests. As the Giants kick off prep for a Week 5 road matchup with the Commanders, he's dealing with a health concern and likely will need to practice fully Thursday or Friday in order to avoid a designation ahead of the weekend.
Cam Skattebo — Active
The second-year back failed to top 60 rushing yards for a third straight game, but at least in Week 3 he was able to add a 3-40-0 line through the air. Skattebo hasn't gotten into the end zone since the Giants' opener, and through four contests he has 302 scrimmage yards while averaging a disappointing 3.5 yards per carry. He'll try to get going on the ground in a Week 5 road clash with the Commanders.
Cam Skattebo — Active
With Jameis Winston under center instead of Jaxson Dart (knee), the Giants leaned a little more heavily on their backfield and Skattebo saw a season high in touches while hitting for 100-plus scrimmage yards for the first time in 2026. The second-year back's longest play came on a 30-yard toss in the first quarter, as he made himself available downfield to bail out a scrambling Winston. Through three games, Skattebo is showing no ill effects from the ankle injury that ended his rookie campaign early, and he's collected 177 rushing yards and a TD on 50 carries while adding a 7-59-0 line on eight targets. He figures to see a big workload again in Week 4 at home against the Cardinals.
