Robert Beal Jr. — Out
Beal has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Week 3. The rotational defensive end continues to miss time but has not yet been placed on IR, meaning the team likely expects him to overcome the injury soon.
Willie Gay Jr. — Out
Gay popped up on Thursday's practice report as a DNP due to an illness. He was able to return to practice Friday in a limited capacity, but his illness is severe enough for him to be sidelined for Sunday's AFC East tilt. Jackson Woodard and Shaka Heyward are the top candidates to start alongside Jordyn Brooks and Jacob Rodriguez at linebacker. Gay's next opportunity to play is Week 8 against the Patriots on Nov. 1.

Reese Taylor — Out
Taylor did not practice at all during Week 7 prep. The cornerback remains sidelined with a quadriceps injury he suffered in the Dolphins' Week 4 loss to the Vikings. The depth piece for the team's secondary still has no set return timeline.

Kyle Louis — Injured Reserve
Louis progressed enough in his recovery from a knee injury to be cleared to practice Wednesday, and he was a limited participant in his return. He'll likely need to log consecutive full practices before being activated from IR, but there's a chance that he is given the green light to play against the Jets on Sunday. The rookie fourth-rounder's return would bolster the Dolphins' depth in the secondary and give the team another contributor on special teams.
Caleb Douglas — Out
Even though they're on bye for Week 6, the Dolphins held an informal session Tuesday. Douglas didn't look to be mixing into drills with his healthy teammates, which has been the trend since he injured his ankle in a Week 2 loss to the 49ers. The rookie wideout will look to take advantage of the bye week with the hope of making enough progress in his recovery to potentially resume practicing with the Dolphins when the team kicks off Week 7 prep next Wednesday.
