Recent official rulings
Jonathan Isaac — Out
Isaac holds no timetable for a return to an ongoing left knee injury. The oft-injured forward can be considered week-to-week until the Magic update his timeline.
Jonathan Isaac — Out
The oft-injured forward isn't ready to make his season debut. His next chance to do so arrives Friday in Toronto for a rematch with the Raptors.
Jalen Suggs — Out
Suggs suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Knicks when his right knee buckled following a layup attempt. Fortunately, further testing revealed no major structural damage, though the 25-year-old will miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated. Anthony Black and Jase Richardson could see increased opportunities in Orlando's backcourt during Suggs' absence.
Jonathan Isaac — Out
Isaac continues to be sidelined by a left knee injury that caused him to miss the final two months of the 2025-26 season. He has yet to make his 2026-27 debut, and his next chance to do so is Wednesday against the Raptors.
Paolo Banchero — Out
Banchero left during Friday's loss against the Timberwolves due to an ankle injury, and follow-up tests have confirmed a high-ankle sprain for the fifth-year forward. With an extended absence expected, the Magic will have to rely more heavily on Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane offensively, and Tristan da Silva figures to be the top candidate to enter the Magic's starting lineup for as long as Banchero is sidelined.
Anthony Black — Out
"He's doing a good job, still ramping up and looked good," coach Sean Sweeney said. Black continues to make encouraging progress from a right ankle sprain that sidelined him throughout the preseason. His participation in shootaround is a positive sign, though the Magic have yet to establish a timetable for his return. He'll look to carve out a role in Orlando's backcourt once cleared to play.
Anthony Black — Out
Black will miss a second consecutive regular-season contest after missing the entire preseason with a right ankle sprain. His next opportunity to suit up will come Sunday against New York. With the 22-year-old guard unavailable, Jase Richardson and Tristan da Silva will likely continue seeing increased burn.
Jonathan Isaac — Out
The oft-injured forward isn't ready to make his season debut. His next chance to do so arrives Sunday in New York, when Orlando takes on the defending-champion Knicks.
Jonathan Isaac — Out
Isaac didn't play in the preseason and will sit out Sunday's contest due to left knee injury management. His next chance to suit up will come Friday against Minnesota.
Anthony Black — Out
Black didn't suit up in the preseason due to a sprained right ankle. He's still in the process of ramping up and will miss the team's regular-season opener, though head coach Sean Sweeney said he was moving well in Sunday's practice. The 22-year-old's next chance to play will come in Friday's game against Minnesota. In the meantime, Tristan da Silva, Jamal Cain and Jevon Carter are candidates to see increased minutes.
Noah Penda — Out
Penda suffered the hamstring tear in Friday's 136-115 preseason win over the Heat. It's unknown how long the injury will keep the 21-year-old off the floor. However, since it's a different injury than the one he suffered in the same hamstring during training camp, the team may take a cautious approach regarding his return. Penda, the No. 32 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, averaged 3.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists over 12.8 minutes per outing in 59 regular-season games in 2025-26. While he's not expected to be a mainstay in the rotation throughout the 2026-27 campaign, his absence could open up a few minutes for Tristan Da Silva.
Noah Penda — Out
Penda was limited at the start of training camp due to a right hamstring injury, and he's now in danger of missing Wednesday's regular-season opener against Atlanta. If the 21-year-old is forced to miss time, Jamal Cain could see a slight bump in minutes.
Izaiyah Nelson — Out
With Nelson still in recovery mode from the left ankle surgery he underwent this summer, his path back to game action remains delayed for the early part of the season. The rookie big man is on a two-way contract with the Magic, so his short-term absence mainly affects his developmental timeline rather than Orlando's regular rotation.
