Tre Johnson — Out
The Achilles soreness is a new issue for Johnson, who was a late scratch ahead of tipoff. His next chance to play will come Friday against the Hornets. With the 2025 No. 6 overall pick sidelined, Bilal Coulibaly and Bub Carrington could see increased playing time.
Tre Johnson — Out
The Wizards didn't have the best night offensively Friday, but Johnson kept his team in the game with 20 points off the bench, which was second-most on Washington behind Trae Young (22). Johnson had only four games of 20-plus points across 60 regular-season contests (42 starts) in 2025-26, but his scoring performance against Toronto could be a sign of things to come for the second-year guard.
Justin Champagnie — Out
The forward underwent surgery Wednesday to address a fractured foot, and the Wizards hope Champagnie will be ready to return at some time around the All-Star break in February. The likes of Bilal Coulibaly, Tre Johnson and Bub Carrington will all be asked to help pick up the slack for the foreseeable future.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
The rookie forward remains questionable on the latest injury report. However, he's trending in the right direction and could be cleared to make his NBA debut against the Cavaliers.
Justin Champagnie — Out
Champagnie is sidelined by a right foot injury, which he picked up during Monday's loss in Charlotte. Tre Johnson and Bub Carrington make for intriguing streaming options in deeper fantasy leagues for Wednesday.
Justin Champagnie — Out
Champagnie wasn't able to put much weight on his right foot on his way to the locker room, and he's since been downgraded to out. The severity of his injury is unclear at this time. Champagnie can be considered day-to-day leading up to Wednesday's game in Cleveland.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
The rookie No. 1 overall pick has a chance to make his highly anticipated NBA debut Wednesday. His eventual return from an ankle sprain should push Bilal Coulibaly into a reserve role.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
Dybantsa hasn't been cleared to make his NBA debut after picking up a left ankle sprain in the team's preseason finale. However, he's trending in the right direction according to coach Brian Keefe, hinting that a return either Wednesday against Cleveland or Friday against Charlotte could be on the table. The team should have another update on the rookie's status after he goes through practice Tuesday.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
Dybantsa will miss a fourth consecutive contest due to a left ankle sprain, and his next chance to play will come Wednesday against Cleveland. With the rookie No. 1 overall pick sidelined, Bilal Coulibaly and Tre Johnson will likely continue seeing increased playing time.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
Dybantsa will miss a third straight game due to a left ankle sprain, with his next chance to make his regular-season debut coming Monday at Charlotte. Bilal Coulibaly, Tre Johnson and Khris Middleton are candidates to see an uptick in minutes in Dybantsa's stead.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
The rookie No. 1 pick remains day-to-day according to coach Brian Keefe. Friday's game is the front end of a back-to-back set, and considering the day-to-day designation, a return against the Bulls on Saturday could be on the table. In the meantime, the Wizards will likely continue to lean on Bilal Coulibaly.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
Coach Brian Keefe confirmed that the rookie was able to get some shooting work in, though it's unclear whether he's ready to resume full-contact activities. Dybantsa's availability for Washington's regular-season opener remains uncertain, and his participation in upcoming practices should provide a better indication of his readiness.
AJ Dybantsa — Out
Dybantsa remained limited at Tuesday's practice and is still considered day-to-day after picking up the sprain during the final preseason game Friday. It sounds like the Wizards are being extra cautious with the No. 1 overall pick. In the meantime, Tre Johnson, Bilal Coulibaly and Will Riley could see additional minutes.
Tristan Vukcevic — Out
Although the big man will remain a limited participant in training camp as he continues his rehab from a hip impingement, it sounds like his absence from game action will extend into the regular season. Deandre Ayton should have the backup center role all to himself until Vukcevic is cleared to retake the floor.
Jamir Watkins — Out
Watkins, a two-way player for the Wizards, suffered the injury during the Summer League. Although Washington has yet to offer a timetable for a return, a typical recovery time for the procedure is approximately 9-to-12 months. That leaves Watkins in serious jeopardy of missing most, if not all, of the 2026-27 season, and it remains to be seen if the team will continue keeping him around on a two-way roster spot while he's injured.
