Recent official rulings
Tobias Harris — Out
This will be Harris' fifth straight game on the shelf as the Spurs continue to wait for his official debut. Harris is progressing and is said to be close to day-to-day.
Tobias Harris — Out
Harris is still ramping up from a left calf strain and will miss a fourth consecutive contest to begin the regular season. His next opportunity to make his season debut will come Wednesday at Utah in the second leg of this back-to-back set. Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson will likely continue seeing increased playing time while Harris is sidelined.
Tobias Harris — Out
Harris has yet to play for the Spurs this season, and this will be a third consecutive absence for the veteran forward. With Harris on the sidelines, Devin Vassell and Julian Champagnie should be in line for more playing time Saturday and beyond.
Tobias Harris — Out
The veteran forward still isn't ready to make his Spurs debut due to a left calf strain. Harris is up against a quick turnaround if he wants to suit up in time for Saturday's matchup with the Mavericks. Both Devin Vassell and Julian Champagnie stand out as worthy streaming candidates until Harris is cleared to play.
Tobias Harris — Out
"He's ramping up. He's progressing," coach Mitch Johnson said. "He still needs some more progressing on the court." With Harris still not ready to return, the Spurs will likely utilize their three-guard lineup quite a bit, and guys like Julian Champagnie, Keldon Johnson and Harrison Barnes could find more minutes.
Malik Williams — Out
Williams won't be an option for this contest, but the big man isn't likely to play a big role with the Spurs anytime soon. He's expected to play for the Austin Spurs in the G League in the 2026-27 campaign. His next chance to play in the preseason will come against the Suns on Saturday.
Jayden Quaintance — Out
The Spurs are expected to exercise extreme caution with the big man, as Quaintance suffered a torn ACL and meniscus with Arizona State in February 2025 before appearing in only four games with Kentucky last season due to severe complications and persistent swelling. The 19-year-old underwent a cleanup procedure on his meniscus in mid-July, and the Spurs will likely want him at 100 percent before ramping him up to basketball activities.
Jayden Quaintance — Out
The rookie center faced severe complications and persistent knee swelling last season following February 2025 ACL surgery, and a follow-up procedure was required. It remains to be seen how long he will be sidelined for, but this certainly puts his status for training camp in doubt.
