Recent official rulings
T.J. McConnell — Out
McConnell hasn't played this season due to a hamstring injury. While Carlisle didn't give a specific date on when McConnell will be cleared to suit up, it appears his return will come sooner rather than later. With Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) sidelined, McConnell could work his way into the starting lineup at some point, though it may take him at least a few games before he receives a full workload.
Ben Sheppard — Out
Sheppard required a full repair and is without a definitive timetable for a return to action. With Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) expected to miss at least two weeks, Quenton Jackson figures to see a significant uptick in playing time. Two-way player Braden Smith could also see increased action with the parent club.
Tyrese Haliburton — Out
Given the tricky nature of hamstring injuries, the Pacers will likely take their time bringing Haliburton back to the court, so don't be surprised if his absence extends beyond this two-week window. Andrew Nembhard (neck) and Pascal Siakam should each get a usage bump as they take over more of the playmaking duties sans Haliburton and there will be more minutes available for Quenton Jackson.
Tyrese Haliburton — Out
Haliburton's official diagnosis is a left hamstring strain. Team doctors will continue to evaluate him, so fantasy managers will have to patiently wait for more clarity. In the meantime, the Pacers will need to lean more on Andrew Nembhard (neck), Quenton Jackson and Kelly Oubre.
T.J. McConnell — Out
The veteran point guard continues to battle a hamstring strain. His next chance to make his season debut comes Friday in Miami.
Ivica Zubac — Out
Zubac isn't ready to return from an ankle sprain, but the veteran big man remains day-to-day. Jay Huff figures to continue starting for the Pacers in the meantime, with Obi Toppin (hand) also helping plug up the hole at center.
Ben Sheppard — Out
Sheppard was diagnosed with a torn left meniscus Friday, and the team has since determined that he'll require surgery. A timetable for the guard's return should start to come into focus after the procedure.
Andrew Nembhard — Out
Nembhard picked up a neck injury during Sunday's game against Brooklyn, though coach Rick Carlisle noted that it's a back issue that will force the guard to miss Monday's clash. T.J. McConnell (hamstring), Ben Sheppard (knee) and Johnny Furphy (knee) are also unavailable, presumably leading to additional opportunities for Kelly Oubre and Quenton Jackson in the backcourt against the Bucks.
Andrew Nembhard — Out
Nembhard tallied 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt), one rebound, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Indiana's win over Brooklyn on Sunday, but it appears he picked up a neck issue in the process. If he's unable to suit up for the second half of the Pacers' back-to-back set, Quenton Jackson and Jalen Slawson would likely see increased playing time.
T.J. McConnell — Out
McConnell's 2026-27 debut will have to wait at least one more game as he continues battling a hamstring strain. His next opportunity to suit up will be against the 76ers on Wednesday.
Ivica Zubac — Out
No surprises here after coach Rick Carlisle hinted at Zubac's absence following his injury Sunday night. The center is dealing with some swelling, but it's currently unclear how long this will sideline him for. Look for Jay Huff and possibly Larry Nance to pick up some minutes in the meantime.
T.J. McConnell — Out
McConnell has yet to make his season debut for the Pacers as he tries to work his way back from a hamstring strain. His next chance to make his season debut will be in the second leg of this back-to-back set Monday at Milwaukee.
Ben Sheppard — Out
Sheppard can be considered out indefinitely until the Pacers offer an update on his timeline to return. In the meantime, Jarace Walker and Quenton Jackson will likely see increased playing time.
Ben Sheppard — Out
Sheppard has yet to play for the Pacers this season, and the lack of a clear timetable for his return suggests he'll remain sidelined for a few more games, even in a best-case scenario. Look for Quenton Jackson and Jarace Walker to continue getting extra minutes while Sheppard stays on the sidelines.
Ben Sheppard — Out
Sheppard is in jeopardy of missing Friday's contest due to left knee soreness. If he's ultimately ruled out, Quenton Jackson and Jarace Walker would likely see increased burn, especially if Aaron Nesmith (hamstring) remains sidelined.
T.J. McConnell — Out
The veteran point guard continues to battle a hamstring strain. His next chance to make his season debut comes Sunday in Brooklyn.
T.J. McConnell — Out
McConnell did not play at all during the preseason, and now we know that a hamstring injury was the culprit. Hamstring issues limited McConnell to 56 games last season, so it's not great that the 34-year-old veteran will begin the 2026-27 season on the sidelines with the same injury.
Aaron Nesmith — Out
Nesmith missed Indiana's final two preseason contests due to a left hamstring strain, and he'll remain on the inactive list for the club's regular-season opener. His next chance to play will come Friday against Dallas. With the 27-year-old forward out, Kelly Oubre, Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard are candidates for increased burn.
Aaron Nesmith — Out
Nesmith revealed Thursday that a hamstring injury kept him out of Tuesday's exhibition against Oklahoma City, though he described himself as feeling "pretty good." The 27-year-old forward will finish the preseason on the sidelines, and his availability for Indiana's regular-season opener remains uncertain. Kelly Oubre and Ben Sheppard could see additional opportunities on the wing if Nesmith's absence extends into the regular season.
Johnny Furphy — Out
Furphy started in 21 of 35 regular-season appearances for the Pacers, posting averages of 5.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 three-pointers in 18.4 minutes per contest. While no timetable has been announced, Furphy's absence could extend through the beginning of the 2026-27 season. With this news, the Pacers will likely lean more on Ben Sheppard, Kam Jones and Quenton Jackson moving forward.
