Recent official rulings
Tobe Awaka — Out
Awaka will hit the sidelines after tweaking his ankle during Monday's 134-99 loss to the Celtics. For now, he should be considered questionable for Friday's meeting in Boston.
Patrick Williams — Out
Williams continues to battle left adductor soreness. His next opportunity to make his season debut arrives Friday, when the Bulls square off with the Celtics in Boston.
Nic Claxton — Out
The Bulls reported one week ago that the big man would be re-evaluated in two weeks, so he appears to be right on track with his recovery from a hamstring injury. He'll presumably need to take part in 5-on-5 drills before getting the green light to return to game action.
Patrick Williams — Out
Williams is in line for a second straight absence due to right groin/adductor soreness. He's yet to appear in a game this season for Chicago even when healthy.
Patrick Williams — Out
This will be Williams' first missed game this season due to injury. However, he hasn't been in the rotation, so Williams' absence from the active roster won't impact fantasy leagues.
Noa Essengue — Out
Head coach Tiago Splitter said he's holding Essengue out of Saturday's game as a precaution, so it doesn't sound like he'll be out long. His next chance to play will come Monday in Boston.
Dailyn Swain — Out
Swain wasn't expected to travel with the Bulls, and it appears unlikely he'll play in Milwaukee on Friday as well. Once healthy, the rookie forward should push for a reserve role at forward.
Jordan Hawkins — Out
Hawkins wasn't slated to travel with the Bulls, and it seems unlikely he'll play in Milwaukee on Friday as well. Hawkins will provide backcourt depth at both guard spots for Chicago once healthy.
Jordan Hawkins — Out
Hawkins is day-to-day but will not travel with the team ahead of Opening Night. The guard is on a two-way contract and is not projected to be in the rotation early on.
Dailyn Swain — Out
Swain will not travel with the team ahead of Opening Night as he recovers from this illness. His next chance to play comes Friday against the Bucks. The rookie was projected to open the season as the second-string small forward. Isaac Okoro (undisclosed) could soak up more minutes with this news.
Nic Claxton — Out
This is a tough blow for the Bulls as they will be without their starting center for the first seven games of the regular season. Meanwhile, Zach Collins' (toe) status remains in the air. This could set up Jalen Smith for a solid workload to open the season.
