Mason Taylor — Active
Taylor bookended the scoring for the Jets. He got New York on the board with a 13-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter and rounded out the scoring in the fourth with a 12-yard touchdown reception and the ensuing two-point conversion. The 2025 second-round pick entered Sunday's action with just one touchdown in 17 career regular-season appearances, but Taylor posted the best performance of his young career while outplaying 2026 first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq, who had just one catch for six yards. Taylor will continue to face competition for targets from Sadiq, as well as the wide-receiver trio of Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper and Adonai Mitchell, in Week 8 against the Raiders.
Mason Taylor — Active
Taylor put together his best performance of the year, setting new season highs in catches, yards and targets. The tight end now has caught nine of 12 targets for 55 yards over four games this season. With rookie Kenyon Sadiq also heavily involved at tight end, Taylor's upside will continue to be hard to gauge moving forward.
Mason Taylor — Active
Taylor strung together a trio of full practices this week, and the second-year rookie has been cleared to return Sunday from a two-game absence due to a thumb injury. He saw just three targets through the first two games of the regular season, whereas rookie TE Kenyon Sadiq has turned 18 targets from QB Geno Smith into a 12-143-1 line across four games. That said, both of the Jets tight ends could find success against a Browns defense that ranks in the bottom-10 in the league in fantasy points allowed to tight ends.
Mason Taylor — Active
Taylor didn't practice in any fashion and sat out for both of the Jets' past two games due to the thumb injury, but he appears to be close to 100 percent ahead of Sunday's contest against the Browns after operating with no restrictions to kick off Week 5 prep. The second-year tight end paced Jets tight ends in snaps through the first two weeks of the season, but he may have to settle for a lesser role upon his return. Rookie first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq -- who handled light workloads the first two weeks after missing much of training camp and the preseason while recovering from hernia surgery -- has seen his snap counts ramp up over the past two weeks while Taylor was sidelined and produced a 7-105-1 receiving line on 12 targets during that stretch. Sadiq now looks poised to operate as the Jets' top option at tight end ahead of Taylor moving forward.
Mason Taylor — Active
Taylor has missed the past two games with his thumb issue, but his involvement in practice to kick off Week 5 prep gives him a good chance at playing Sunday versus the Browns. Though he led Jets tight ends in snaps in the team's first two games before missing time with the injury, Taylor is expected to take more of a back seat behind rookie first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq upon returning to action. After undergoing hernia surgery during the offseason, Sadiq missed considerable practice time during training camp and was eased in with a small role to begin the season, but he's emerged as a key part of the passing game over the past two weeks with a combined 7-105-1 receiving line on 12 targets.
Mason Taylor — Out
Taylor remained out of practice this week and will miss a second straight game. Provided he's healthy enough to play, Kenyon Sadiq (back) should handle more of the workload at tight end once again for the Jets after he secured seven of eight targets for 105 yards and a touchdown last Sunday against Detroit.
Mason Taylor — Doubtful
Per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, head coach Aaron Glenn labeled Taylor as week-to-week Wednesday, so it comes as little surprise that the second-year tight end wound up sitting out practice for the second day in a row. Unless Taylor is unexpectedly able to return to the practice field in some fashion Friday, he'll likely be officially ruled out for Sunday's game in Chicago.
Mason Taylor — Doubtful
Taylor appears set to miss a second straight game Sunday against the Bears. With Taylor out last Sunday against the Lions, first-round rookie Kenyon Sadiq played a season-high 57.6 percent of the Jets' offensive snaps and posted a 7-105-1 receiving line on eight targets. With Adonai Mitchell (finger) also week-to-week for Gang Green, Sadiq has a path to once again play a prominent pass-catching role versus Chicago.
