Jalen Brooks — Injured Reserve

The transaction comes after Brooks announced earlier in the day that he underwent season-ending wrist surgery. Brooks saw light snaps through the first four weeks of the season, but he stepped in as the Cardinals' No. 3 wideout for the past three games after Marvin Harrison was traded to the Texans. The 26-year-old will finish the 2026 campaign with five receptions for 81 yards on 17 targets to go with 499 yards on 19 kickoff returns.

Jalen Brooks — Out

Brooks wasn't known to have sustained an injury in the Cardinals' 30-16 loss to the Broncos on Sunday, when he played a season-high 52 of 81 snaps en route to finishing with a 35-yard reception on six targets. Evidently, Brooks fractured or sprained his wrist severely enough at some point during the game to require surgery a day later, bringing an early end to his 2026 campaign. Through seven games, the fourth-year wideout recorded five catches for 81 yards on 17 targets while returning 19 kickoffs for 499 yards. Reggie Virgil and Simi Fehoko look to be the top candidates to replace Brooks as the Cardinals' No. 3 wideout behind Michael Wilson and Kendrick Bourne.

Jalen Brooks — Active

Both of Brooks' catches came in the fourth quarter, the second of which was for 21 yards late in the period that also drew a penalty flag for unnecessary roughness by defensive back Josh Wallace. That set up the Cardinals at the Rams' 29 yard line and led to the game-winning, 43-yard field goal by Chad Ryland. Brooks has four catches (on 10 targets) for 46 yards over the Cardinals' last two games and has stepped into a more prominent role offensively since Arizona's trade of Marvin Harrison to Houston before Week 5. The Cardinals will look to make it two wins in a row in Week 7 against the Broncos, whose defense would be boosted if star defensive back Pat Surtain (ankle) was cleared to return from a two-game absence.

Jalen Brooks — Active

After logging single-digit snaps in each of the Cardinals' first four games while drawing one total target, Brooks saw a substantial increase in playing time in Week 5. With the Cardinals opting to make Marvin Harrison inactive for the Week 5 contest, Brooks stepped into a regular role in three-receiver sets, taking the field for 39 of 73 offensive snaps. Arizona traded Harrison to Houston following the contest, which should clear the way for Brooks to continue seeing ample snaps moving forward. However, Brooks isn't expected to rank as a high priority in the passing game, with all of Michael Wilson, Trey McBride and Kendrick Bourne ahead of him in the pecking order for targets.
