Injury & Status History
A running log of this player's status changes — each entry links to the original source.
Braelon Allen — Active
Allen began Week 8 prep as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, but he shed all limitations Thursday, while Breece Hall (quadriceps) remained limited for a second consecutive practice Thursday. Hall got the majority of backfield touches over Allen when both were healthy to begin the season, but the former hasn't seen game action since Week 3. Allen should be good to go for Sunday's game against the Raiders, but uncertainty lingers regarding Hall's status.

Braelon Allen — Questionable
Over the past four games, Allen has filled in for Breece Hall (quadriceps) as the Jets' lead back, but both players will kick off Week 8 prep with limitations in practice. In Allen's case, he may just be a bit banged up after averaging 20.8 touches per contest in Hall's absence, so as long as doesn't take any steps back in terms of practice activity as the week rolls along, Allen should be on track to play Sunday versus the Raiders. The extent of Allen's role will depend on the availability of Hall, who could also suit up this weekend if he responds well to practicing over the next three days.
Braelon Allen — Active
Allen worked as the lead back for a fourth consecutive game, as Breece Hall (quadriceps) was ultimately inactive after being listed as questionable heading into the game. The 235-pound Allen continued to struggle in short yardage, getting stuffed on a goal-line attempt in the fourth quarter as the Jets were denied a game-tying touchdown and instead settled for a field goal to cut the deficit to four points with 8:57 remaining. Allen has exceeded 100 rushing yards twice during Hall's absence but has just one touchdown over that span and two touchdowns this season. Hall worked ahead of Allen prior to getting hurt, but they may split the backfield workload more evenly if Hall's cleared to return against the Raiders in Week 8.
Braelon Allen — Active
With Hall unavailable for a fourth straight game Sunday, Allen will have a chance to build on the averages of 18.3 rush attempts, 84.3 rushing yards, 1.7 receptions and 11.3 receiving yards he's generated in the lead role over his teammate's first three absences. Despite their winless record, the Dolphins have been respectable defending the run, allowing 4.0 yards per carry to running backs, albeit while also conceding a 25-197-5 receiving line to the position.
Braelon Allen — Active
With Hall sidelined the past three weeks, Allen has stepped up to lead New York's backfield. He's performed well in that role, averaging 84.3 rush yards per game and 4.6 yards per carry, albeit with only one touchdown. Hall will likely step back into the starting role if he's able to suit up Sunday, though Allen is expected to get a fair amount of work as well. Even if Hall does return to action, both ball carriers could find success against a Dolphins defense that has given up the second-most fantasy points per game (23.7) to running backs.
Braelon Allen — Active
Allen served as the Jets' clear lead back during Breece Hall's second straight absence due to a quadriceps injury, and the former put together a productive effort that featured a new season high in receiving yards. Allen has acquitted himself very well as the No. 1 option over the last two games, posting 194 rushing yards and a touchdown alongside three receptions and the 26 receiving yards he accrued Sunday. If Hall remains sidelined in Week 7, Allen will get a crack at a beatable Dolphins defense at home.
Braelon Allen — Active
Allen had a huge part in the Jets' Week 5 win over the Browns, totaling 116 yards and a touchdown over 24 rushes. The running back is set to reprise his role as one of the team's foremost offensive weapons against the Patriots on Sunday as Breece Hall (quadriceps) continues to recover.
Braelon Allen — Active
Allen ran in the go-ahead 22-yard touchdown with 3:01 remaining, and the Jets' defense held twice after that to secure the team's second win of the season. The 2024 fourth-round pick handled lead-back duties for the second consecutive game in the absence of Breece Hall (quadriceps), notching 25 touches to Isaiah Davis' three. After reaching 100 rushing yards in a game for the first time in his career, Allen would be in line for another substantial workload in Week 6 against the Patriots if Hall remains sidelined.
Braelon Allen — Active
Hall will miss a second consecutive game due to a quadriceps injury, and the star running back has yet to be cleared to return to practice. As such, Allen will be the Jets' RB1 versus Cleveland, with Isaiah Davis and Kene Nwangwu providing backfield depth. Allen was the starter for the Jets' Week 4 loss to the Bears, when he turned 14 carries into 59 yards and added two catches (on as many targets) for eight yards.
Braelon Allen — Active
Allen accounted for all 14 of the Jets' rushing attempts in the absence of Breece Hall (quadriceps), who is considered week-to-week. The Bears dominated time of possession as Geno Smith completed just eight passes in the loss. If Hall isn't ready to return in Week 5 against the Browns, Allen would retain the lead role in the backfield for the Jets.
Braelon Allen — Active
Hall exited in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss at Detroit due to a thigh injury, and afterward he relayed that he "felt something" while running, per Brian Costello of the New York Post. Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter of ESPN then reported Monday that Hall is considered week-to-week. While Hall hasn't outright been ruled out for Week 4 or beyond, Allen currently ranks second on the team in carries with 19, which have gone for 61 yards, while Davis hasn't logged an offensive snap through three contests to begin the season. As a result, Allen is the better bet to take advantage of an absent Hall, if that comes to pass.
