Jacob Cowing — Active

Cowing and the other 49ers pass catchers operated in expanded roles Sunday due to the absences of both Mike Evans (Achilles) and Deebo Samuel (hamstring). Cowing was on the field for 26 of the 49ers' 66 offensive snaps (39.4 percent), which was third most behind Jordan Watkins (50) and Brandin Cooks (45). Cowing put up season highs in catches, receiving yards and rushing yards, but his role could shrink significantly following the 49ers' Week 8 bye depending on the statuses of Evans, Samuel, Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson (ankle, IR), with rookie second-rounder De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle, IR) not expected back until December, per David Lombardi of SFStandard.com.

Jacob Cowing — Active

Despite the absence of Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and the premature exit of Mike Evans (Achilles), Cowing went without a catch for the fifth time this season. With neither Samuel nor Evans a lock to suit up in Week 7 versus the Falcons, Cowing might see more snaps alongside Brandin Cooks and Jordan Watkins. However, that may not be the case if Demarcus Robinson (ankle) can manage to get on the field after spending time on injured reserve since the Week 2 win over Miami.

Jacob Cowing — Active

Even though Demarcus Robinson (ankle) was moved to injured reserve following Week 2 and Mike Evans (rib) was unable to finish Sunday's contest, Cowing didn't benefit from much of a spike in playing time. In fact, after logging 24 of the 49ers' 52 offensive snaps (46.2 percent) in Week 2, Cowing saw his snap share drop to 31.5 percent. The biggest beneficiary of Robinson's absence and Evans' early exit was KhaDarel Hodge, who finished second to only Deebo Samuel (39) among 49ers receivers with 30 snaps.
