Injury & Status History

Tank Bigsby — Injured Reserve
Bigsby will undergo core muscle surgery for an abdominal injury that he picked up during the Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Rams. The fourth-year pro will be required to miss at least the next four games, so the earliest he can return is Week 9 against the Giants. Saquon Barkley (hamstring) is also considered week-to-week, so with Bigsby on IR, Will Shipley could be the Eagles' starting running back for Week 5 against the Jaguars on Sunday in London.
Sources: Eagles RB Tank Bigsby to have surgery, headed to IR
Eagles running back Tank Bigsby sustained a core muscle injury Sunday that requires surgery, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Tank Bigsby — Out
Bigsby left in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Rams in the fourth quarter due to an apparent lower-body injury, which will result in a multi-week absence, at least. Once he's on IR, his earliest possible return date will be Sunday, Nov. 8 against the Giants. WIth Saquon Barkley currently dealing with a hamstring issue, Will Shipley is the only healthy RB on the Eagles' active roster, while Jaydon Blue, Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele are the options to be brought up from the practice squad.
Tank Bigsby — Questionable
In a contest in which Saquon Barkley was lost early due to a right hamstring injury, Bigsby was the primary beneficiary before his own departure, accounting for 55 yards on 14 carries before his late exit. Will Shipley is the only healthy running back currently on the Eagles' active roster heading into Week 5.
Tank Bigsby — Active
Bigsby logged 13 carries and scored a touchdown in Week 2 against Tennessee after Saquon Barkley suffered a stinger, but he went back to a minor role Monday. That was partly due to Barkley looking healthy and turning 15 totes into 82 yards, though Bigsby's lost fumble following his lone reception near the end of the first quarter also may have had a role in his lack of subsequent touches. Whatever the case may be, Bigsby doesn't seem likely to have a significant week-to-week role on offense whenever Barkley is healthy.
