Injury & Status History

Percy Butler — Active
Butler returns to the lineup for the Commanders after missing the team's Week 5 tie with the Giants due to a hamstring injury. Butler will operate in his usual role as the backup at free safety to Jeremy Reaves.
Percy Butler — Out
Butler was unable to practice all week due to a hamstring injury, which he likely picked up during the Commanders' Week 4 loss to the Colts in London. Nick Cross (illness) and Tyler Owens (hamstring) have also been ruled out, leaving Jeremy Reaves and Quan Martin as the lone healthy safeties on the Commanders' 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's NFC East tilt.
Percy Butler — Active
Butler entered concussion protocol following the Commanders' Week 3 win over the Seahawks but ended up making quick progress through the five-step protocol. After opening Week 4 prep as a non-participant, Butler turned in full practices Thursday and Friday, and apparently received clearance from an independent neurologist at some point shortly thereafter. He'll be available to serve in a depth role in the secondary but is likely to see most of his snaps on special teams.
Percy Butler — Questionable
It's not immediately clear when Butler suffered the concussion, but his availability for Week 4 is now up in the air. In the event he can't suit up against Indianapolis, Tyler Owens could be in line to see a few snaps in the secondary.
