Micah Parsons — Out

Parsons has spent all season on the PUP list while he continues to recover from the torn ACL he sustained Dec. 14, 2025. Though the Packers haven't relayed that Parsons has experienced any setbacks in his rehab, the team has taken a deliberate approach with easing him back on to the field. After a Thursday game against the Panthers, the Packers will benefit from an extended break leading up to their Week 9 matchup with the Patriots on Nov. 8, which could represent a good opportunity for the team to open Parsons' 21-day evaluation window. Even if Parsons begins practicing next week, he'll still likely face an uphill battle to suit up against New England.

Matt LaFleur isn't ruling out imminent practice return for Micah Parsons

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons might finally be back on the practice field next week, more than 10 months after he underwent surgery on his left knee.

Micah Parsons — Out

With Green Bay not yet ready to open Parsons' 21-day practice window this week, the star edge rusher can safely be ruled out from making his 2026 debut Sunday in Detroit. LaFleur isn't dismissing the possibility of Parsons playing Week 8 versus the Panthers, though because that game will be a Thursday night matchup, the five-time Pro Bowler may face an uphill battle to gain clearance. At this point, the Packers' Week 9 matchup with the Patriots on Nov. 8 looks to be a more realistic target for Parsons to make his return to action, after his 2025 season came to an end when he tore his ACL on Dec. 14.

Packers' Micah Parsons won't play against Cowboys but return 'getting closer'

Not only will Micah Parsons not make his season debut this week vs. his old team, but the Packers edge rusher still isn't ready to practice.

Micah Parsons — Out

Parsons had previously noted in the early stages of training camp that the Week 6 matchup with his former team was a realistic target for his season debut. The 27-year-old ultimately won't be ready to play against Dallas, and while the Packers remain hopeful he'll be able to return to action at some point in October, his absence looks increasingly likely to stretch into November since he has yet to resume practicing with the team. Green Bay hasn't indicated that Parsons has experienced any setbacks from the torn ACL in his left knee that he sustained Dec. 14, as the team may simply be taking a deliberate approach with the star pass rusher's recovery.

Micah Parsons — Out

With four weeks in the books, Parsons now is eligible to be activated from the reserve/PUP list, but with him not yet ready to practice he will not return to action in Week 5 against the Bears, and it may be tough for him to make it back for Green Bay's Week 6 matchup against his former Dallas team.

Micah Parsons — Out

Because he was placed on the PUP list July 28, Parsons has been eligible to resume practicing since Week 2, but the Packers aren't yet ready to open his 21-day evaluation window. Parsons had previously told Ryan Wood of USA Today that the Packers' Oct. 18 game against the Cowboys was a "very realistic" target for him to make his 2026 debut, but in order for that to happen, the star edge rusher would likely have to start practicing by next week.
