Injury & Status History
A running log of this player's status changes — each entry links to the original source.
Travis Etienne Jr. — Injured Reserve
Etienne dealt with a hamstring injury during Week 3 prep and then aggravated the issue this past Sunday against the Raiders, leading to head coach Kellen Moore telling Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football on Monday that the running back was expected to miss some time. With his placement on IR, Etienne will sit out at least the next four games, meaning his next chance for game action is Sunday, Nov. 8 versus the Browns. In the meantime, Alvin Kamara figures to take on the lead role in the Saints backfield, but Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson also are on hand for RB reps.
Travis Etienne Jr. — Out
Moore noted that a specific timeline for Etienne's return hasn't been established, making it uncertain whether or not the running back will be able to avoid a stint on injured reserve. At the very least, Etienne will be sidelined for the Saints' Week 4 game against the Falcons next Monday, which likely paves the way for Alvin Kamara to take on an expanded profile in the backfield after working in a complementary role the previous two weeks. Reserve backs Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson also should be in store for more opportunities for however long Etienne is out.
