A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown was inactive for Sunday's 24-19 win over the Dolphins, and Vrabel's comment Monday implies that the wideout's status for this weekend's game against the Packers is uncertain at this stage. In Brown's absence versus Miami, DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism and Kyle Williams paced the Patriots' Week 8 WR corps.
A.J. Brown — Out
Brown entered the weekend with the questionable tag despite being held out of practice both Thursday and Friday, and the knee injury that flared up during Wednesday's session is severe enough for the veteran wide receiver to miss Sunday's AFC East tilt. With Brown sidelined, the Patriots' pass-catching group will be led by DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism and tight end Hunter Henry. Brown's next opportunity to play is Week 9 against the Packers on Sunday, Nov. 8.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel deemed Brown questionable after Friday's practice, in which the wideout didn't participate. Vrabel told reporters that Brown's knee flared up during Wednesday's practice and prevented him from finishing the session, per Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald. Brown then missed practice Thursday and Friday, putting his availability in serious doubt ahead of a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Miami on Sunday.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown was limited Wednesday and missed practice Thursday, with reports confirming a flare-up in his knee. He's managed chronic/degenerative knee problems throughout his career, typically managing to play even when the issue flares up. That said, the back-to-back absences from practice suggest Brown is in danger of missing Sunday's game at Miami, potentially leaving DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism and Kyle Williams as New England's top three WRs.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Thursday's injury report confirms earlier reporting from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that Brown isn't practicing Thursday. According to Rapoport, Brown recently had a knee issue flare up, which has the wide receiver's status for Sunday's game against the Dolphins in doubt. Brown has six catches for 75 yards on 16 targets in two games since returning from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown is contending with a new knee injury in addition to the ankle injury through which he has played the last two weeks after missing the previous four. The wideout's fantasy managers should start forming contingency plans in case he sits out Sunday against the Dolphins, though Brown could change the narrative by returning to practice Friday.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown looks to be trending in the wrong direction after being listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice. He has caught just six of 16 targets for 75 yards in two games since returning from a stint on IR due to an ankle injury. Brown's activity level Friday could be pivotal for his availability Sunday against the Dolphins.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
The Patriots are remaining cautious with Brown, who is apparently nursing a knee issue in addition to getting continued maintenance for the high-ankle sprain that kept him out for four games. Brown was limited in two practices ahead of a Thursday night game against the Bears but still played 92 percent of the offensive snaps in the 30-24 loss. A similar rep-management plan could be in place for Brown going into Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
A.J. Brown — Active
Brown entered the night looking to put a fairly forgettable Week 6 return from injury behind him, but the veteran wideout could only slightly improve his numbers in the high-scoring loss. He was fairly quiet until the second half, when he had 16- and 14-yard grabs. Brown did finish second in targets on the night for New England, but Drake Maye focused most on tight end Hunter Henry and running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who saw a combined 12 targets. With Romeo Doubs (IR, shoulder) out for at least three more games, Brown will have a chance to see elevated volume in a Week 8 road matchup against the Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 1.
A.J. Brown — Active
Brown turned in a full practice Wednesday, and that was enough to take him off the injury report going into the Week 7 primetime matchup with Chicago. He returned from a four-game absence in Week 6 and played 76 percent of the offensive snaps against the Jets, recording three catches for 27 yards on 10 targets. Brown and the Patriots will face a Bears defense that allows 9.8 yards per target to opposing receivers.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown returned from a four-game absence this past Sunday against the Jets. He's been limited in each of the first two sessions of Week 7 prep, and the veteran wide receiver told reporters after Tuesday's practice that his ankle is "feeling good," per Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald. Wednesday's injury report should clarify whether the Patriots' top WR will be fully cleared for Thursday night's game against the Bears.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown, who returned from a four-game absence this past Sunday against the Jets, was listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report. It remains to be seen how the Patriots list his Tuesday participation level, but at this stage there's no reason to believe that the wideout's availability for Thursday night's game against the Bears is in any danger.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
In his return from a four-game absence Sunday against the Jets, Brown was targeted 10 times but hauled in only three of them for 27 yards. It appears he's still bothered by his previous right ankle sprain, as evidenced by a capped walkthrough Monday, but he still has two more chances to get back to full this week before potentially being tagged with a designation for Thursday's contest at Chicago.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown's return from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury largely fell flat, but it could have been a lot more productive had it not been for his clear drop on a nicely thrown deep pass from Drake Maye early in the second quarter. Brown has already seen 23 targets from Maye over the two games the star receiver has suited up for, so the chemistry is bound to continue to blossom once they finally have an uninterrupted stretch of games to work together. Brown won't have to wait long to try and atone, however, as the Patriots are back in action Thursday night on the road against the Bears.
Patriots' A.J. Brown has career-high 3 dropped passes in return from injury
Patriots receiver A.J. Brown, coming off a right high ankle sprain that sidelined him four weeks, had a shaky return to action Sunday, dropping a career-high three passes in the team's win over the Jets
A.J. Brown — Active
Brown is making his first appearance since Week 1, when he suffered a right high-ankle sprain, and there's an expectation that he'll be able to play "a good amount" of snaps, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. What that may amount to for Brown remains to be seen, but in his 16 appearances (including playoffs) last season with the Eagles, he handled at least an 87 percent snap share in all but two of those contests.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Assuming Brown is officially cleared when the Patriots release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, he'll suit up for the first time since the season opener, when his team debut came to an early end after he sustained a right high-ankle sprain. Following a four-week absence, Brown made his return to practice Wednesday and was a limited participant for three straight sessions before being activated from injured reserve Saturday. Though the Patriots could monitor his playing time to some extent, Brown sounds like he's on track to handle something close to a starter-level snap count.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Even though he's still questionable, the fact that Brown was activated from IR indicates that the veteran wide receiver will be on the field for Sunday's AFC East showdown. Brown has fully recovered from a right ankle sprain that he sustained in Week 1 against the Seahawks, and he will serve as Drake Maye's top target in the passing game.
A.J. Brown — Questionable
Brown logged a trio of limited practices during Week 6 prep, but it appears the veteran wide receiver has progressed enough in his recovery from a right-ankle sprain to be activated from injured reserve. Assuming he's activated from IR by the 4:00 p.m. ET deadline Saturday, Brown will slot right back into the WR1 spot and provide a significant boost in the passing game while leading the Patriots' wide receiver group that also consists of Romeo Doubs, DeMario Douglas and Efton Chism.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
Since the Patriots designated Brown for return from injured reserve Wednesday, he logged back-to-back limited sessions to begin Week 6 prep, but the team won't make a decision to activate him until it's absolutely required to do so (by 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday). If he's given the green light to play for the first time since Week 1, when he sustained a right high-ankle sprain, he'll rejoin a New England receiving corps currently populated by Romeo Doubs, DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism and Kyle Williams.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
After the Patriots opened his 21-day return window Wednesday and he was able to log limited work Thursday, Brown now appears to have made it through a full week of practice activity. The Patriots will need to activate him from injured reserve Friday or Saturday if he's going to play against the Jets on Sunday. It's not yet clear if that will happen, but continued practice participation is at least a strong sign that Brown should be ready for Week 7, if not Week 6.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
Brown has logged a pair of limited practice sessions since being designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday. He said Thursday that his availability for Sunday's game against the Jets is "up in the air." The decision regarding whether to play is out of Brown's hands, as his availability will be determined by head coach Mike Vrabel in consultation with team doctors. Brown has one more chance remaining to upgrade to full participation Friday before New England releases Week 6 injury designations. He would need to be added back onto the active roster before being eligible to play.

A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
Brown practiced Wednesday after having his 21-day window to return from injured reserve opened. "I felt pretty good," Brown said regarding Wednesday's practice, during which he was listed as limited. "It's one step at a time." The flashy offseason acquisition has missed the past four games due to a sprained ankle sustained in the second half of New England's season-opening loss to Seattle. A loss to the Jets on Sunday would drop the Patriots to third in the AFC East standings, but New England's passing game has been trending in the right direction despite Brown's ongoing absence, as Drake Maye has a 7:1 TD:INT over the past two games after posting a 1:6 ratio through Week 3.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
The Patriots designated Brown for return from injured reserve earlier Wednesday, opening up a 21-day window wherein the star wideout can be evaluated for a return to the active roster. Though Brown operated with a cap on his reps in his first practice session since Week 1, he is a candidate to be activated ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets. The Patriots will see if Brown can upgrade to full practice participation Thursday or Friday before making a decision on his status heading into the weekend.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
Brown has missed the required four games while on IR due to the right high-ankle sprain that he sustained in a Week 1 loss at Seattle. While the Patriots offense initially sputtered without its big offseason addition, QB Drake Maye has come to life the last two games, and getting Brown back in the fold perhaps will help stabilize the situation further. Nevertheless, Brown will need to put himself in a position to play again, and Wednesday's injury report will reveal his baseline activity level as New England begins prep for Sunday's contest against the Jets.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
After landing on injured reserve following the Patriots' season-opening loss to the Seahawks, Brown now has missed the required four games and is eligible for activation beginning this week. Before the Patriots consider adding him back to the 53-man roster, however, Brown will need to have his 21-day practice window opened. The wideout was spotted walking without a limp last week, which suggests that he's made good progress in his recovery from a right high-ankle sprain and may be ready to mix into drills. If Brown ends up getting cleared to practice this week and looks good during his on-field work, he could be a realistic candidate to suit up this Sunday versus the Jets.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
When Brown came out of Week 1 with a right high-ankle sprain, he was expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks, but his placement on IR before Week 2 action means he's eligible to return to practice as soon as next week. That doesn't mean he actually will be, but being able to move about sans limp generally is a good sign in his recovery and could mean practice reps are on the horizon for the Patriots' No. 1 wide receiver.
A.J. Brown — Injured Reserve
Kyles noted that Brown was wearing cleats, which could hint that he was able to do some on-field exercises. After being placed on injured reserve Sept. 12, Brown won't be eligible to start practicing with his teammates until Week 6, but the wideout at least seems to be making good progress in his recovery from the high-ankle sprain he sustained in the season-opening loss to the Seahawks.
