Injury & Status History
A running log of this player's status changes — each entry links to the original source.
Brandin Cooks — Active
Cooks was in line to serve as the 49ers' top wide receiver for Week 7 due to the absences of Mike Evans (Achilles) and Deebo Samuel (hamstring). Cooks' 45 offensive snaps were second-most among 49ers wideouts behind Jordan Watkins (50), although the former had only once catch to show for his extra playing time, which didn't happen until the final minute of the fourth quarter. Cooks has three catches (on seven targets) for 33 yards and a touchdown over his last three games, but his role could shrink significantly following the 49ers' Week 8 bye depending on the statuses of Evans, Samuel Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson (ankle, IR).
Brandin Cooks — Active
Cooks logged a season-high 52 percent offensive snap share in Monday's win over Washington while Samuel was sidelined, and now Evans is set to miss at least one game as well. Cooks managed just one catch on two targets for 13 yards across his 32 offensive snaps, however, as QB Brock Purdy directed a majority of his 29 passes to tight end George Kittle (eight targets) and running back Christian McCaffrey (10 targets). Kittle and McCaffrey could be looked to often again in Week 7, with Cooks, Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowing and Christian Kirk (calf) potentially competing for WR targets.
Brandin Cooks — Active
Cooks unsurprisingly played a minor role in the air attack as one of four players with one catch on the night. The veteran wideout has two receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown on five targets over the three games for which he's been active to date, and with Demarcus Robinson (ankle) not likely to return from injured reserve until Week 8, Cooks is likely to suit up again in a Week 7 road matchup against the Falcons on Sunday.
Brandin Cooks — Active
Cooks spent a little more than a week on San Francisco's practice squad before joining a position group that currently has two injured players on the active roster and four on injured reserve. He split time between the Saints and Bills in 2025, combining for a 24-279-0 line on 36 targets in 15 regular-season games.
